      <image:caption>Mary K. Carroll is the Dwane W. Crichton Professor of Chemistry at Union College (Schenectady, NY).  She is active in the American Chemical Society (ACS) at the local and national levels, and has served as Councilor of the Eastern New York ACS section since 1998. Mary Carroll earned a BS in chemistry from Union College (1986), and a PhD in analytical chemistry from Indiana University, Bloomington (1991). Following a postdoctoral stint at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, she joined the faculty of Union College in 1992. She has been recognized with the Stillman Prize for Excellence in Teaching (1995), the Faculty Meritorious Service Award (2012), and the Stillman Prize for Faculty Excellence in Research (2022).  In 2015, she received the 100 Inspiring Women in STEM Award from INSIGHT into Diversity magazine. She is currently on the Fulbright Specialist Roster (Chemistry Education). At Union, Prof. Carroll teaches general chemistry, analytical chemistry and chemical instrumentation, as well as courses for non-science majors, mentors undergraduate research students, and engages in college service.</image:caption>
